National Service Scheme (NSS)

About NSS:
The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a Central Sector Scheme of the Government of India, launched in 1969 with the aim of developing students personality through community service. NSS provides an opportunity to students to take part in various social service activities, fostering a spirit of volunteerism, social responsibility, and national integration.
Vision of NSS:  
To build a sense of social responsibility, leadership, and selfless service among youth, encouraging them to contribute actively towards the upliftment of society and the nations development.
Objectives of NSS:
  1. To understand the community in which volunteers work.
  2. To identify the needs and problems of the community and involve them in problem-solving.
  3. To develop a sense of social and civic responsibility.
  4. To utilize knowledge in finding practical solutions to individual and community problems.
  5. To develop competence required for group-living and sharing of responsibilities.
  6. To acquire leadership qualities and democratic attitudes.
  7. To gain skills in mobilizing community participation.
  8. To practice national integration and develop a sense of unity and equality.
